Reports from Tehran suggest that efforts are already under way in order to prevent the death sentence of Mohammad Amin Valian from being carried out.

Ayatollah Mostafa Mohaghegh Damad is said to have been lobbying for the intervening of senior clerics in order to halt the unjust execution of a twenty-year-old Mohammad Amin Valian. Valian has been sentenced to death by a court in Iran for being a “Moharab” (enemy of God), however the only piece of evidence against him is an image showing the young student holding a stone in his hand!

Ayatollah Mostafa Mohaghegh Damad is a respected cleric among Shiite religious leaders. He is also the brother-in-law of the Larijani brothers, one of whom is the head of the judiciary Sadegh Larijani.

It should be noted that the death sentence can be carried out at any moment, as was the case with Arash Rahmanipour and Mohammad Reza Ali Zamani who were suddenly put to death without the prior notice of their families. Go to original article.
