Mousavi FB: On the anniversary of International Women’s Day, a group of women’s rights activists met with Dr. Zahra Rahnavard, Mir Hossein Mousavi’s wife, and honoured this day in the memory of the brave women who sacrificed their lives for the Green movement, were imprisoned and tortured and all those who turned the streets Green in the aftermath of the rigged presidential election and cried for freedom and justice.

Isa Saharkheiz, reformist figure and an advocate for the freedom of press in Iran who has been detained shortly after the election, threatened to go on hunger strike in protest to the horrible conditions of prison. Mehdi , son of Isa Saharkheiz , in an interview announced that his mother visited his father and that his father has lost lots of weight and looked very weak and fragile physically but his sprit was stronger than ever. Because of the brutality of the agents Isa Saharkheiz has been suffering from broken ribs since his arrest but was denied medical treatment since then. According to the report by Mehdi Saharkheiz his father has been transferred to solitary confinement again shortly after he was transferred to the public cell only because after hearing the moaning of a female prisoner who has been suffering from Multiple Sclerosis objected to the inhuman conditions of the prison.

Abdollah Momeni, the spokesman of The Bureau for Consolidating Unity (Tahkim-Vahdat, the major reformist alumni and student organisation) was released today from prison under bail. Momeni was arrested about 8 months ago just days after the presidential election and unjustly was sentenced to 6 years in prison for what was announced as attending “illegal” gathering and protests while he did not attend any protests!
