Mousavi Facebook: Mehdi Karoubi in an interviewt with Tagheer website (Official website of Etemad Melli) responded to some of the false accusations of Keyhan newspaper (coup government’s propaganda machine). l

Mehdi Karoubi said: “a while ago someone who considers himself as the ideologist of conservatives in a meeting that he had with Mr. Ahmadinejad had said that: conserving the ninth administration is the most important responsibility of those who care about the revolution and when God’s will is the same nothing else matters; we should act so that God’s will prevail, even if majority of people are wrong and cannot determine what is best for them.” l

Karoubi added: “When I read these remarks I was very saddened and prayed to God from some who see themselves [so high] that considers themselves as the representatives of God on earth. They consider such a [superior] position for themselves and then in the name of God’s will do whatever they want and act as they wish. These individuals have not yet explained how they reached such a level and how it came to them that objecting to Ahmadinejad’s government is [the same as] objecting to God?!!” l

Karoubi said: “I really did not have any intentions to bring up the arrogance of these individuals but when I saw that they repeatedly are talking about “conspiracy” and deny their roles in the events after the election and are influencing the judiciary system I decided to respond.” l

In continuation Karoubi by pointing out the false accusations and rumours made by keyhan newspaper said: “After the Qods day and Nov 4th rallies and also my attendance in the Media Fair, those who were worried and afraid of people’s presence, have started rumours and false accusations against me. While the actual reason for these attacks, is people’s presence. The Friday Prayer platforms have been tainted with lies and false accusations. So it was natural that some of the senior figures comforted me by different means; including some of Grand Ayatollahs, senior religious figures, intellectuals and scholars, university students and professors, journalists and some of the members of the parliament and different political groups in different contacts (either in written or verbally) while condemning these false accusations and lies as well as the events that happened after the election, expressed kindness and support to me.” l

At the end Karoubi said: “My message for the managers of Keyhan newspaper is that our interpretation of Islam is different than yours…I am not saying that you don’t have the right to have your own interpretations of Islam and Imam Khomeini, but I am saying that you do not understand and don’t know Imam Khomeini. But you must know that you don’t have the right to call anyone who disagrees with you a traitor… You should know that in God’s court all are equal and responsible for their past actions.” l
