Ali Behzadiyan-Nejad, nephew of Ghorban Behzadiyan-Nejad the campaign manager of Mir Hossein Mousavi, has been sentenced to six years in prison. Behzadiyan-Nejad who was arrested among other political activist followin the election coup in June was charged with “disturbing the security of the country” and “advertising against the establishment”. Behzadiyan’s lawyer said some of the evidence used against Behzadiyan by the prosecutor was “the comments people wrote in his personal blog”!!!

Kambiz Norouzi, Journalist and a member of the legal committee of Iran’s Journalist Associations, has been sentenced to two years in prison and 76 lashes. Norouzi was charged with advertising against the establishment and participating in June 15th protest following the announcement of the results of the presidential elections. Norouzi was arrested on June 28th in front of Qoba Mosque where he had participated in the anniversary ceremony of martyrdom of Ayatollah Beheshti. Mousavi was supposed to attend the ceremony but due to pressure from security forces could not make it; none the less many people gathered in front of the mosque in protest to the coup government and in support for Green movement.

On Nov 17th students at Karaj University (near Tehran) protested to the presence of Safar-Harandi (who was Ahmadinejad’s Minister of Islamic Culture in the ninth administration) by chanting Green slogans.  YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0nyhK5uur4

Ali-Akbar Mousavi-Khoeini, former member of parliament in the reform era and former secretary general of the Council of the Unity Consolidation Bureau (Tahkim-Vahdat, the main Reformist Student Alumni Organisation) warned the coup agents that: “Don’t expect calm and lack of action [from the people] until the release of [political] prisoners and fulfilling people’s demands”.

Student protests continuous: Following the arrest of Pouya Sharifi (Head of the student fraction of Mir Hossein Mousavi’s campaign) on Nov 3rd in a nightly attack by the coup forces a…t his home, Today (Nov 17th) students of Iran University of Science & Technology in Tehran protested once again to the coup government, by having another day of hunger strike and chanting Green slogans like “Death to dictator” and “Ya Hossein.. Hamid Rasaee, coup government supporter member of parliament was attending Ghazvin University (near Tehran) to give a talk on Nov 16th but he could not finish.According to the reports, students while protesting against him giving a talk at their university because of his prevention of having a reformist figure to debate with him, by chanting various slogans made him to cut his speech short.
